Terms of engagement

Acceptance

A booking is accepted when we confirm a date and fee in writing, including email. Paying a deposit, or attending a mapping sitting paid on the day, also counts as acceptance. If you do not agree with these terms, do not book.

The work

We provide a human reading of harvest records and field operations. We do not act as agronomist of record, crop-protection adviser, surveyor, or drainage contractor. Written packs are opinions based on the records and walks available. They are not a warranty of future yield.

Your records

You warrant that you have the right to share tickets, diaries, and combine files with us. You remain responsible for the accuracy of those records. We may refuse to continue a visit if records are withheld in a way that would make the pack misleading.

Intellectual property

You keep ownership of your tickets, diaries, and files. The written pack, sketches, and calendars we produce are licensed to you for use on the holding named in the booking, including sharing with your agronomist and merchant. You may not republish our packs as training material or resell them. We may keep an anonymised copy for our own notes.

Liability

We are not liable for cropping decisions, purchase decisions, or losses arising from weather, contractors, or third-party advice. Our liability for a given booking is limited to the fee paid for that booking, except where United Kingdom law does not allow a limit (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, and fraud). You remain responsible for health and safety on your land during a walk.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, which suits a practice based at 92 Caxton Place, Byford, HR4 8FH, United Kingdom.
